What Is Plasma?
When we talk about Opus plasma, we are not referring to blood plasma. We are instead referring to a type of energy. Plasma is the fourth state of matter with the other states of matter being solid, liquid, and gas. As solid can become liquid, liquid can become gas, gas can become plasma.
How does Opus Plasma work?
Radio-frequency (RF) energy converts nitrogen and oxygen in the air into plasma sparks causing micro perforations in the skin. These micro- injuries promote collagen regeneration to improve skin smoothness and texture.
What areas can Opus laser treat?
Here at Aesthetica we can treat any areas on the face and neck, including sensitive areas such as around the eyes, as well as chest, abdomen, hands, and legs with Opus Plasma laser.
How long does Opus plasma treatment take and how many treatments will be needed?
Each Opus resurfacing treatment will take about 15 minutes depending on the size of the area and patients’ concerns. Even though patients see results after initial treatment, the number of treatments for Opus laser depends on the patients’ concerns and the results they’re wanting to achieve. For optimal results, anywhere between 2-5 treatments is recommended with each treatment being spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
What is the downtime?
One of the benefits of Opus resurfacing treatment is the short downtime. Patients will notice some redness and minor swelling on the treated area, however that will improve in 1-4 days. One of our Master Estheticians here at Aesthetica will give you detailed instructions for post Opus Plasma skin resurfacing treatment.
